ahava

[uh-haa-vuh] verb

  1. a Hebrew word (אהבה).

  2. the act of love.

Origins of “Ahava”

The Hebrew language has been spoken for over 3,000 years. Because of its age and presence in many of our most revered documents, it is foundational to our understanding of human history. We thought a name from a foundation of language was fitting for a place that strives to serve as a foundation for community.

And what is community without love?

The root of “Ahava” (love) is “hav” which means “to give.” And love is not something that simply happens to us; rather, it is developed and displayed by our actions when we give ourselves to others. With that definition in mind, we chose our name in light of our mission: to give our time, our energy, and our passion to the each person we encounter here at Ahava Coffee. We are here when you need us, whether it be for a drink, a smile, or simply for a place to rest. We truly cannot wait to serve you.
